Re-branding: Out with the old and In with the new

We've just begun our new re-branding campaign, and this logo is the first step.  It was designed by our friend and fellow BNI member Diane Napper, of Taurus Moon Graphic Design.  She's a wizard.  She knew what we wanted before we did.

The font is a vintage font - because we are in a 145-year-old building in a historic town on the Minnesota River.  Yet we no longer wanted "vintage" to define us; thus the clean, stylized design.

The graphic was somewhat hand drawn and has a slight vintage feel to it.  We love the image in so many ways.  First, because it is a compilation of stem, leaves and buds, it does not depict any particular flower.  As a matter of fact, we like to use a lot of branches and foliages in our designs, particularly curly willow - and the end of the stem reminds us of curly willow.  Second, it looks a little like a flower stem in a square vase - symbolizing what we do in floral design.  But it also says, "a little outside the box," which we feel describes our work.

Yes, we're please with what Diane has done for us, and can't wait to move on with our re-branding.  This logo is (temporarily) on our Facebook cover page (www.facebook.com/carverflowers) and soon (Nov 3, we've been told) our FB name will be changing from Carver Country Flowers & Gifts to Carver Flowers.
